Richard J. Thorne, Jr., Esq.

Richard J. Thorne, Jr. is the founding member of Settlement Matters, LLC. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2000, Mr. Thorne began his career as a mortgage loan officer with a local mortgage company. In 2003, he transitioned to the settlement side of real estate transactions, where he developed extensive experience guiding clients through the closing process.

While working as a settlement agent, Mr. Thorne earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law, graduating cum laude in 2007. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar and is licensed to conduct real estate settlements in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Jennifer Dwyer, Esq.

Jennifer Dwyer has been involved in the title industry since 2003, beginning her career as a Marketing Representative before advancing through a variety of roles within the industry. Her experience led her to pursue a law degree, after which she held the role of Assistant General Counsel for a large title company prior to joining Settlement Matters in 2011.

Ms. Dwyer earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2003 before pursuing her legal education at the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor and graduated cum laude. She was admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals of Maryland in 2010.
