Richard J. Thorne, Jr., Esq. Richard J. Thorne, Jr. is the founding member of Settlement Matters, LLC. Shortly after his 2000 graduation from the University of Maryland at College Park with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Mr. Thorne began his career as a mortgage loan officer with a local mortgage company. In 2003, Mr. Thorne transitioned from originating mortgage loans to the settlement side of real estate transactions. While working as a settlement agent, Mr. Thorne earned his Juris Doctrate from the University of Baltimore in 2007, graduating cum laude. Jennifer Dwyer Dent, Esq. Jennifer Dent has been involved in the title industry since 2003. She entered the industry as a Marketing Representative and worked her way through an array of positions until finally landing as Assistant General Counsel at one of the largest and most respected title companies in the state. Ms. Dent graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. She went on to study Law and earned her Juris Doctor at the University of Baltimore, where she graduated cum laude. She was admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals of Maryland in 2010.
